Mantle magnetism

Magnetic anomalies are formed by rocks located at various depths. The longer the wavelength of the anomaly is, the deeper the source. New satellite magnetic data and information from mantle xenoliths shed light on the nature of these deep sources. (Dr. Ferré)

Magnetic fabrics

Rocks acquire specific fabrics during rock-forming processes and through deformation. Magnetic fabrics place constrains on these processes and corresponding deformation mechanisms. (Dr. Ferré)
